Workshops

FSU Libraries offers a variety of events throughout the year, including training, topical discussions, and symposia.



Schedule an Instruction Session

Librarians are available to meet with classes for instruction in the effective use of information resources. Customized library sessions may be requested to introduce classes to the major research tools in specific disciplines, with an emphasis on the use and comparative value of these resources and how they fit into the context of the research process.

Schedule a Research Consultation

Library subject specialists offer collaborative partnerships and consulting for data and research projects.



Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service where a student, faculty, or staff of Florida State University may obtain books or obtain photocopies of articles from other institutions.


Library Express Delivery Service

FSU Libraries provides a library express delivery service to all faculty members, staff, post-docs, and graduate assistants with appointments (i.e., graduate assistants, research assistants and teaching assistants). Available items are delivered to department offices within 48 hours. Scanned articles and book chapters are delivered by email.

Reading Room

FSU Libraries provides quiet study space designated for faculty and graduate students only. Requires card swipe access.



Graduate Student Individual Extended Time Study Rooms

FSU Libraries provides individual study rooms for graduate students for two week checkout. Available at the front desk on a first come, first serve basis.


Group Study Rooms

FSU Libraries provides group study rooms and conference rooms in the Scholars Commons are checked out for 2 hour blocks.Group study rooms are intended for use by groups of two or more currently enrolled FSU graduate students or FSU faculty.

Teaching Portfolios

This guide provides information on creating a teaching portfolio, as well as examples of teaching portfolios and philosophies of teaching.


Critical Thinking Resources

This guide includes resources for teaching critical thinking in general and in specific disciplines.



Course Reserves

Course Reserves are course-related materials made available, either electronically or physically, through the FSU Libraries. Course materials may be put on reserve at one of the libraries or made available on Canvas at the instructor’s request. Reserve items may be checked out at a library service desk for short-term use in the library.

Software

FSU Libraries offers a variety of software in different locations in order to assist in research and curricular needs.



Digital Research and Scholarship

FSU Libraries offers collaborative partnerships and consulting for technology-inflected research in the areas of digital humanities, academic publishing, and instruction.
